I've been trying to duplicate the yardarm for a while. i made a drive stand like the everyone else, but my problem has always been getting the correct horizontal & vertical alignment of the drive to slide it in. so i tore down the old drive stand and created a new one from a transmission jack.. I'm looking for some tips to make 2 outdrive stands for my boat. i was thinking about making them out of (wood) 2" x 2" and then the top where the drives would rest would be made out of 2" x 4".. Find great deals on ebay for mercruiser outdrive stand. shop with confidence..
Outdrive stand and lift homemade no welding i thought if i came up with a simple design with no welding required some of the board members who dont have access to a welder could fabricate one easily. an added feature is since it is bolted together it can easily be broken down for storage.. Brand new stumpysfabworks boat lower unit jack. it is designed to fit almost every outdrive available. if not i can custom make the mounting bracket you would need. the jack/ stand/ lift has a working range of 16 inches up to 29 inches.. The stand measures 12.5" wide x 24.5" length x 22.5" high with casters; in most cases this drive stand can help in the removal and or the installation of your outdrive (removal of the prop is required for this step). you can put your drive on this stand from the front or from the back of the stand. no need to flip your drive around on the stand..
