The field museum can be overwhelming, even to adults. there's so much to see and do. on the other hand the shedd has just one focus, and it's easier to concentrate during the 1 to 1.5 hours there. i'd save the field for another trip.. Shedd aquarium was the first inland aquarium with a permanent saltwater fish collection. located on lake michigan , it is located on the museum campus chicago , which it shares with the adler planetarium and the field museum of natural history .. At the end of july we spent a few days in chicago. one whole day was spent enjoying the shedd aquarium and the field museum. we received a media pass for the shedd aquarium and ended up visiting the museum too since it was within walking distance..
Best answer: i would definitely see the field museum over the shedd aquarium. my favorites are the gem room, the egyptian exhibits, the dinosaur, the native american exhibits. so much more to see, and so varied..
